Katherine Scott is the Library Media Specialist at Ritta Elementary School, where she has inspired a love of reading in students since 2022. She has 24 years of experience in education, including 15 years as a school librarian.

Originally from Florida, Mrs. Scott began her career as a classroom teacher before discovering her true passion in the library. A lifelong reader, she knew from a young age that she wanted a career centered around books and literacy. Her favorite part of being a librarian is helping students find the right book that opens the door to a lifelong love of reading.

Mrs. Scott holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of West Florida and a Master’s degree in Information Studies from Florida State University, where she was awarded a competitive fellowship. She is proud to serve the Ritta Elementary community and believes the library should be a place where curiosity, creativity, and imagination come to life.
